Majilis Speaker holds meeting with Speaker of the Russian State Duma

The two sides exchanged views on topical issues of Kazakh-Russian cooperation, the press service of the Majilis reported Monday. Kabibulla Dzhakupov stressed the importance of the signed Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on Good Neighbourly Relations and Alliance in the 21st Century. Sergei Naryshkin thanked his Kazakh counterpart for the invitation to participate in the international conference dedicated to the Day of the First President of Kazakhstan. "We remember and appreciate the fact that the idea of the Eurasian integration was first proposed by Nursultan Nazarbayev back in 1994 during his speech at the Moscow State University. This idea was developed, and transformed into the Eurasian Economic Union. Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia are regarded as engine rooms of this mega-project," said S. Naryshkin.
