Majilis approves draft law on private detective activity in Kazakhstan
"The introduction of private detective activity is focused on protecting the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities, the state and society. In this regard, the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the concerned governmental authorities has developed a draft law "On private detective activity". "The purpose of the bill is the legal regulation of private detective activity in the Republic of Kazakhstan", said Berik Imashev, Minister of Justice, presenting the bill. According to his words, the draft law defines the main objectives of private detective activity. In addition the law fixes the principles of legality, the inadmissibility of violation of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a man, as well as legal entities, the constitutional order, public morality; confidentiality; non-interference of officials in the activities of private detectives. The Minister also stressed that the draft law provides for the rights and obligations of private detectives and the procedure for issuing, suspension, deprivation and termination of private investigators' licenses.
