M5.3 earthquake hits Philippines

A magnitude-5.3 earthquake struck the Philippine Islands Region at 2117 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said, Xinhua reports.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 9.97 degrees north latitude and 127.02 degrees east longitude.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the death toll from Venezuela’s twin quakes had risen to 164.
