M5 quake hits western Iran

A magnitude-5 earthquake hit western regions of Iran on Wednesday, Anadolu reported, citing the Tehran University Seismological Center.
The quake struck at around 12:23 am, local time, near Gilan-e Gharb in the Kermanshah province, at a depth of 9 kilometers.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage were received.
Earlier, it was reported that a magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck China on May 3, 2026.
