Luxurious residential complex in Almaty catches fire
A fire broke out in a flat in a multi-storey Alatau Prestige residential complex in the Almaly district of Almaty city. The fire spread to the roof, Kazinform News Agency reports.
“In response to the incident, the Emergency Situations Department of several fire brigades was dispatched to the Almaly district. The fire was extinguished in the flat on the seventh floor of the eight-storey residential complex. The fire affected both the flat and the roof. The total area of the fire is set to be determined,” the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty noted.
A total of 25 employees and six units of equipment from the Emergency Situations Department have been dispatched in order to combat the fire.
“Firefighters are working with safety precautions as there is a threat of collapse of structure,” the department added.
