Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary ban on the export of timber and wood products outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The government regularly extends these restrictive measures to protect the domestic market and prevent the illegal re-export of raw materials.
According to the government resolution, the temporary ban on the export of timber and wood products, classified under EAEU Harmonized System codes 4401, 4403, and 4407, has been set for a period of six months. The restrictions shall not apply to humanitarian aid provided by resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
In February this year, Kyrgyzstan introduced a ban on the export of mineral fertilizers.
