Kazakhstan’s ministers and party leaders cast their ballots

A nationwide referendum on the draft of a new Constitution is underway in Kazakhstan. By mid-morning, the Head of Government, deputy prime ministers, all Cabinet members, and political party leaders had visited their polling stations. As of 10:30 AM, the entire Cabinet had already cast votes, Qazinform News Agency reports.

A nationwide referendum on the draft of a new Constitution is underway in Kazakhstan. By mid-morning, the Head of Government, deputy prime ministers, all members of the Cabinet, and political party leaders had visited their polling stations. As of 10:30 AM, the entire Cabinet had already cast votes, Qazinform News Agency reports.

The voting process for Cabinet members took place in the early hours of the morning.

Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government, Galymzhan Koishybayev

Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva voted at Polling Station No. 129 at the National Academic Library. She described the adoption of the new Constitution as a tangible result of the political reforms initiated by the Head of State in 2019.

Parliament and parties support the civic process

For instance, Senator Nurtore Zhussup, who visited Polling Station No. 129, described the referendum as a historically significant event for the country.

The Chairman of the Respublica Party, Aidarbek Qojanazarov, voted alongside the party’s deputies and co-chairs. The party emphasized that they consider civic engagement in nationwide processes to be a fundamental position.

Referendum continues all over the country

Voting on the draft of the new Constitution is taking place nationwide. Citizens of various generations, from youth to seniors, are arriving at polling stations. The extensive participation of the state leadership in the referendum is, as intended by organizers, to set an example of responsible civic behavior for the whole of society.

The results of the vote will be made known after the closure of all polling stations.

It should be noted that the polling stations are operating from 7:00 am until 08:00 pm Astana time.
