Kazakhstan's cinemas draw 27 million visitors in 2025
In 2025, cinemas in Kazakhstan recorded 27,043,812 visitors, reports Qazinform News Agency.
There are 118 cinemas – 6 state-owned and 112 private. With 512 screening halls, cinemas held 1,097,303 screenings over the year.

Major cities
Almaty remains the leader across all key indicators. The city has 21 cinemas (1 state-owned, 20 private) and 167 screening halls. Over the year, 374,578 screenings were held, attracting 9,099,679 viewers.
Astana has 11 privately owned cinemas with 69 halls. The capital recorded 153,648 screenings and 4,833,399 visits.
Shymkent has 7 privately owned cinemas with 38 screening halls. The city held 79,818 screenings, with 2,238,097 visits.
Regions
Among the regions, the Aktobe region recorded the highest number of cinema visits – 1,100,357 people. It is followed by the Kyzylorda region with 960,770, the Mangystau region with 946,048, and the West Kazakhstan region with 937,677.
High figures were also recorded in the Almaty, Karaganda, Atyrau, and Zhambyl regions – ranging from 700,000 to 850,000 visits. The lowest numbers were recorded in the Ulytau and Akmola regions with 70,256 and 128,633 visitors, respectively.
