Kazakhstani сitizens in the UK show high engagement in referendum
Polling station No. 376 is about to close, with vote counting set to begin shortly, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

Kazakh citizens residing temporarily or permanently in the UK showed unprecedented participation today. In addition to London’s Kazakh community, many compatriots travelled from nearby and distant cities. A significant portion of the voters were scholarship recipients of the "Bolashak" programme. Scientists currently on internships also cast their votes, proudly waving the Kazakh flag and taking photos in front of the embassy. The number of participants and the referendum results will be announced by the commission tomorrow.
“We are undergoing an 11-month internship at the University of Reading under the '500 Scientists' project. Thinking about the future of our country, my family and I decided to take part in the referendum, and we have made our choice," said one of the scientists, Altynbek Moshkalov.
Today referendum on construction of nuclear power plant commences in Kazakhstan. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated at the II Republican Forum of Deputies of Maslikhats of all levels held on October 3 that the referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant would be a turning point, irrespective of the voting results.
