"Almost half of the Kazakhstan population is under 30 years. However, in the Kazakh Parliament there is only one representative of youth under 35 years. In European countries, young people are actively involved in the political life of the state", said N.Botev at a press conference themed "Investing in young people - guarantee of country's prosperity". According to him, there are 2 billion young people in the world aged 10-24 years with 90% of them living in developing countries, a quarter - in extreme poverty, and they compose 50% of total unemployed population. The press conference reported that Almaty will host a series of events to mark the World Population Day, which is celebrated on July 11.
