Kazakhstan views Montenegro as reliable partner in Balkans, says Tokayev
The Kazakhstani President, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, highlighted the significance of the partnership between Kazakhstan and Montenegro during expanded-format talks with President Jakov Milatović in Astana, Qazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
President Tokayev noted that the visit of the President of Montenegro takes place in the year of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Kazakhstan views Montenegro as a very promising and reliable partner in the Balkan region. We highly appreciate your country's constructive foreign policy and its steady progress towards European Union membership, stated the president.
The Kazakhstani leader stressed the role of Jakov Milatović in advancing reforms in Montenegro and strengthening its position as one of the leading candidates for accession to the European Union. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished him success in achieving this strategic national goal.
Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan is interested in developing practical cooperation with Montenegro. According to him, promising avenues for this cooperation include transport, agriculture, digitalization, AI, and tourism.
Earlier, Qazinform reported Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed opening a diplomatic mission of Montenegro in Astana.
