Kazakhstan to reduce mobile cellular tariffs

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The World Economic Forum currently ranks Kazakhstan 17th in mobile cellular tariffs, according to Vice Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Askar Zhumagaliyev.
"After liberalization of the telecommunication sector of Kazakhstan, there emerged a bigger number of cellular service providers, hence, reduced cellular tariffs. Currently Kazakhstan is ranked 17th by the World Economic Forum in terms of average per-minute cost of different types of mobile cellular calls," Vice Minister Zhumagaliyev said at the session of the Council for economic policy at Majilis, the lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament on Tuesday. He also promised that the mobile cellular tariffs will be further reduced. "We will continue to work in that direction," Zhumagaliyev told the session.
