Among the major investment projects is the project with the participation of Switzerland’s Harvest Group.

The project, worth 68 billion tenge, will focus on the cultivation and processing of industrial hemp, corn, and soybeans. By 2028, sowing areas will expand to 32,000 hectares.

Last September, Kazakhstan’s Government approved requirements for hemp cultivation, including limits on tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content. Cultivation is permitted strictly for industrial purposes, not related to narcotics or psychotropic substances.

To note, Kazakhstan has officially legalized the cultivation of hemp for industrial purposes, with five legal entities awarded licenses.
