Kazakhstan showcases Almaty tourism potential in Beijing
The Almaty Tourism Days were held in Beijing as part of the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Representatives of Kazakhstan tour operators, tour agencies and hospitality businesses took part in the event.
Those attending got acquainted with the travel industry of Almaty city and enjoyed a concert.
B2B talks held as part of the event focused on promising areas for cooperation and promotion of Kazakhstan’s tourism in China.
The event was organized by the Almay akimat and the Kazakh Embassy in China.
As earlier reported, Almaty was declared the SCO Cultural and Tourist Capital as part of Kazakhstan’s SCO chairmanship in 2023-2024.
Notably, for the past eight months of 2024 capital investments in the tourism sector in Kazakhstan grew by 69% compared to 2023 to reach 527.6 billion tenge.
