Kazakhstan names squad for Asian Boxing Championships

Kazakhstan’s boxing coaching staff has finalized the squad for the 2026 Asian Boxing Championships, set to take place in Ulaanbaatar from March 30 till April 10, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The squad features medalists from international tournaments.

Kazakhstan will be represented in the men’s competition by Sanzhar Tashkenbay (50 kg), Makhmud Sabyrkhan (55 kg), Orazbek Assylkulov (60 kg), Yertugan Zeinullinov (65 kg), Torekhan Sabyrkhan (70 kg), Sabirzhan Akkalykov (75 kg), Yerassyl Zhakpekov (80 kg), Nurbek Oralbay (85 kg), Sagyndyk Togambay (90 kg), and Aibek Oralbay (over 90 kg).

In the women’s competition, the team will feature Aigerim Sattibayeva (48 kg), Zhazira Orakbayeva (51 kg), Elina Bazarova (54 kg), Ulzhan Sarsenbek (57 kg), Rimma Volosenko (60 kg), Laura Yesenkeldy (65 kg), Bakyt Seidish (70 kg), Valentina Khalzova (75 kg), Nadezhda Ryabets (80 kg), and Dina Islambekova (over 80 kg).

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Kanat Islam has been appointed coordinator of Kazakhstan’s U19 national boxing team.
