Kazakhstan, Moldova discuss cooperation in electoral field
Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Moldova, Almat Aidarbekov, met on Friday with the Chairperson of Moldova's Central Electoral Commission, Angelica Caraman, Qazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh MFA.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the organisation and conduct of the upcoming elections of deputies to the Qurultay of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for 23 August 2026.

Angelica Caraman will participate as an international observer in the elections in Kazakhstan. In this regard, particular attention was paid to the organisation of the electoral process, the activities of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as prospects for professional exchange between the electoral bodies of the two countries.
The Chairperson of the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova briefed the Ambassador on the ongoing work to improve the country’s electoral legislation. In particular, she noted that the new Electoral Code is currently under consideration by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
The parties also discussed preparations for the upcoming local elections in Moldova, which are expected to be held in autumn 2026.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening professional contacts, mutual election observation, and the exchange of experience between the electoral bodies of Kazakhstan and Moldova.
As Qazinform reported earlier, foreign observers from 42 countries are to monitor Kazakhstan’s Qurultay elections.
