Kazakhstan exports home-produced diesel-electric locomotives to 7 countries

Last year, Kazakhstan extended the export of home-produced railroad products. The country has begun exporting home-produced diesel-electric locomotives to Mongolia. Each locomotive costs $4 million, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the press office of the Ministry of Industry and Construction.
The locomotives are also exported to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan.
The locomotives are produced by JSC Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty and LLP Electrovoz Kurastyru Zauyty. The capacity of each plant is 100 units of vehicles per annum.
