"As the host country we create all necessary conditions for the talks to be successful and we hope that mutually acceptable and beneficial agreements will be reached," Altay Abibullayev.

He also noted that Kazakhstan is not a participant or an intermediary of the negotiations. "We cannot comment on the content and possible outcome of the negotiations as long as Kazakhstan is not a participant or an intermediary of the talks," A.Abibullayev said.

The CCS Spokesman said, a diplomatic solution to the dispute over Iran's nuclear program is of special importance for Kazakhstan. "The President of Kazakhstan has emphasized it many times," A.Abibullayev noted.

He also noted that all interested UN Security Council member states, Germany, Iran and the European Union reached a consensus on holding the fourth round of talks in our country.

According to him, the fact that Kazakhstan voluntarily gave up the world's fourth largest nuclear arsenal was one of the important factors for selection of Almaty as the host city. Besides, the historically important decree of the President on closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site was signed on August 29, 1991 in Almaty.

"Kazakhstan has voluntarily renounced nuclear weapons. The country pursues a peaceful policy. However, we recognize the right of every country for peaceful use of nuclear energy in accordance with all conditions and principles of the IAEA," he resumed.
