According to a Facebook post by Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Investment Corporation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan joined Anthropic’s Series F funding round in late 2025.

Kazakhstan co-invested US$25 million alongside major international investors, including Lightspeed Venture Partners. At the time, Anthropic was valued at approximately US$183 billion.

In February 2026, the company completed another financing round, Series G, at a valuation of nearly US$380 billion, more than doubling its previous valuation.

Anthropic is widely recognized for its Claude AI assistant and enterprise-focused AI solutions. The company has increasingly emphasized the safety, controllability and corporate applicability of its models, factors considered especially important for financial institutions, large businesses and government organizations.

The National Investment Corporation described the investment as part of its long-term strategy to expand Kazakhstan’s presence in high-quality global technology assets.

“This investment is part of a long-term strategy,” Suleimenov said. “It is not about short-term market conditions, but about participating in companies that are shaping the foundation of the future economy.”

Suleimenov also highlighted the rapid growth of Anthropic’s ecosystem, including Claude Code, whose monthly audience reportedly more than doubled over the past four months.

The deal marks the first time Kazakhstan has become a direct shareholder in a major global AI company.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Kazakhstan is strengthening its position as a regional hub for artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and space technology, according to Zhaslan Madiyev.
