Kazakhstan announces squad for 2026 UEFA Nations League

Kazakhstan head coach John van ’t Schip has announced an expanded 41-player squad for the national team’s opening UEFA Nations League matches against the Faroe Islands, Slovakia and Moldova, Qazinform News Agency reports.

The squad includes goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov, who plays for Azerbaijan’s Sabah and is still taking part in UEFA Champions League qualifying.

Among the other notable call-ups are Dastan Satpayev, who plays for English club Burnley, as well as Maksim Samorodov, Galymzhan Kenzhebek, Nuraly Alip and Islam Chesnokov, who play for Russian clubs.

The expanded squad also features several young players, including Ismail Bekbolat and Azamat Tuyakbaev.

Kazakhstan will open its Nations League campaign away to the Faroe Islands on September 26, followed by an away match against Slovakia on September 29. The team will host Moldova on October 2 and the Faroe Islands on October 6.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that UEFA allocated more than €7.7 million to Kazakhstan’s football clubs.
