Kazakhstan Al- Farabi University signed cooperation memoranda with Jordan counterparts

During the trip, academician Galym Mutanov and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan Bulat Sarsenbayev met with the president of the University of Jordan, Ekhleif Tarawneh, the president of Petra University, Adnan Badran, the president of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Abdallah Malkawi. The parties talked over issues pertaining to inter-university cooperation, exchange of scientific and practical experience and signed memoranda of understanding and partnership between the educational facilities.

"Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is open to cooperation. Expansion of international relations, internationalization of education and science is a powerful tool for improving competitiveness in the global scientific and educational space. We are glad to establish and develop relationships with the Universities of Jordan in the interests of our countries," - Galym Mutanov said at the meeting.

The Kazakh rector was given the title of honorary professor of Jordan University of Science and Technology and awarded the medal "Al-Farabi" for his contribution to science. G.Mutanov's lecture on "The building of a world-class university in Central Asia on the example of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi" at the above Jordan universities aroused much interest.

The Al-Farabi Cultural and Research Center was opened at the University of Jordan during this visit. Its mission is to popularize Kazakh culture in the Arab world, establish partnerships and cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries, improve the business and tourist image of our country, create favorable impression about Kazakhstan in the international arena.
