Kazakhstan a magnet for refugees because of its economic success: A. Guterres
The press conference was dated to the II Ministerial Conference on Refugee Protection and Mixed Migration: Almaty Process.
"The country is becoming a magnet for refugees because of its economic development and success. Kazakhstan is the leader in Central Asia. Besides, it has all the conditions to take on the leadership role, especially thanks to its developing legal system," added A. Guterres. He also said he had met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev the other day.
"The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has introduced a number of recommendations and the Kazakh President has approved them," he noted.
