Kazakh President thanks counterparts for congratulations on Qurultay elections

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for warm congratulations on the successful first-ever elections to the country’s unicameral Qurultay.

The Head of State noted the parliamentary elections have become clear evidence of the maturity and unity of the citizens of Kazakhstan, who demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and active patriotism, as well as sincere concern for the bright future of our people, especially the rising generation.

He said that comprehensive modernization of Kazakhstan, political and economic reforms, became an irreversible trend and, as the results of the Qurultay elections demonstrated, received the support of the overwhelming majority of citizens. This fact serves as a reliable guarantee of success for plans to build and develop a Fair, Progressive, and Clean Kazakhstan.

The President wished the heads of friendly countries further success in the development of plans and programs aimed at the sustainable development of their countries.

As written before, across the three exit polls, Adilet received the highest level of support, ranging from 70.7% to 72.3%.

Based on the exit poll results, five parties met or exceeded the threshold: Adilet, Auyl, Respublica, Ak Zhol and OSDP.

The People’s Party of Kazakhstan received between 2.8% and 3.2%, while the Baytaq Green Party received between 0.9% and 1.2%. The share of respondents who voted “Against all” ranged from 2.1% to 2.6%.

The Central Election Commission will announce the official results following the completion of the vote count.

Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Ukraine on 35th anniversary of its independence.
