Kazakhstan is a kind of magnet in the field of migration. Our economic success is for many people from other countries to come to Kazakhstan, but this process should be regulated in order to prevent illegal migration flow. This has been announced today by Erlan Idrissov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, in Almaty at the press conference on the Ministerial Conference on Refugee Protection and International Migration.

"Almaty Process involves eight countries, which are directly covered by it. These are primarily the countries of Central Asia, officially the Process was joined by four countries - Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey except for Uzbekistan", added E.Idrissov. He stressed that the regulation of migration should be carried out within the law and generally recognized norms.

"The day before there was a meeting of senior officials who discussed the final document of the conference and operating mechanism that would accompany the Almaty Process. All the above mentioned means that the countries themselves, their neighbors and international partners should work together to implement the priorities identified in the field of migration and refugee issues. There was generated a regional program and plan for its implementation. That has been discussed at the expert level”, said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
