Kazakh delegation to attend conference on humanitarian impact of nuclear weapons in Norway

The conference is to bring together more than 100 representatives of international organizations, researchers and experts in the sphere of disarmament, non-proliferation and humanitarian assistance for victims of use of nuclear weapons.
Prior to the conference, the Kazakh delegation and Honorary ATOM Project Ambassador Mr. Karipbek Kuyukov will also take part in a Civil Society Forum hosted by ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) non-governmental organization on March 2-3 in Oslo. Hundreds of international non-governmental organizations have been invited to attend this event in the Norwegian capital.
The attendees will be briefed on what has been done in Kazakhstan to eliminate the effects of nuclear tests at Semipalatinsk test site and how important it is to continue work in that direction. The ATOM Project will be presented and a photo exhibition "A peace lesson: history of closing the Soviet nuclear weapons program in Kazakhstan" will be unveiled within the conference.
The ATOM Project was launched by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on August 29, 2012 as an international petition campaign designed to fight for a world free of nuclear weapons and weapons testing.
