Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel noted that the Kasteyev Museum is the “main treasury of Kazakh art”. The selected works will be displayed in Baku for four months, strengthening cultural ties and highlighting common Turkic roots.

Saadat Yusifova, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture, emphasized the importance of cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two nations. Museum director Gulaim Zhumabekova described the exhibition as a “space of dialogue” built on shared values and artistic resonance.

Special attention is given to depictions of nature and nomadic space, with landscapes and thematic works conveying harmony between humans and the environment, as well as a philosophical view of time and history.

The opening also featured a creative meeting between renowned Kazakh artist Batima Zaurbekova, the first Kazakh woman to create tapestries, and leading Azerbaijani artists.

The event gathered prominent Azerbaijani painters, art critics, intellectuals, foreign ambassadors, and residents of Baku.

Earlier, Astana hosted the national culture and cuisine festival to celebrate People’s Unity Day.
