Kazakh and German experts discuss humanization of correctional system

ASTANA. February 27. KAZINFORM A special international conference on humanization of correctional system organized by analytical magazine "Exclusive" and Friedrich Ebert Foundation is being held in Almaty today.
The experts say that Kazakhstan strives for humanization. Improvement of the legal basis and amnesties confirm this fact. Unfortunately, the statistics shows that two of three offenders released under amnesty return to prison.
Consul General of Germany to Almaty Dr. Gerold Amelung believes adaptation of pardon generalized persons is the key issue not only in Kazakhstan but also in Germany.
According to German expert Susanna Gerlach, it is necessary to attract experienced psychologists to find out what causes people to commit a crime.
