Kassym-Jomart Tokayev receives credentials from ambassadors of nine countries
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the credentials of ambassadors from nine countries during a ceremony held at the Palace of Independence in Astana, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Akorda.
The credentials were presented by ambassadors Igor Moldovan of Moldova, Nguyen Thanh Le of Vietnam, Jung Ki-hong of the Republic of Korea, Lungisani Ntombela of South Africa, Lubomir Regak of Slovakia, Heike Renate Peitsch of Germany, Alimirzamin Askerov of Azerbaijan, Branko Rakovec of Slovenia, and Monica Ndilyawike of Namibia.

In his welcoming remarks, President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to pursuing a peaceful foreign policy.
As you know, Kazakhstan is pursuing a peaceful foreign policy in today’s highly complex geopolitical situation. We believe that peace must prevail, and we will do everything possible to support peace, security and cooperation both in Central Asia and beyond, said the Kazakh president.

Tokayev also briefed the ambassadors on Kazakhstan’s economic potential and the country’s progress in attracting foreign investment.

We are creating the most favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment into our country. Of course, we welcome all foreign entrepreneurs and major companies that would like to enter the Kazakhstani market and operate here, he said.

The president noted that virtually all major international companies are already represented in Kazakhstan and stressed that the country intends to maintain its open-door policy toward foreign investors.
Tokayev also highlighted Kazakhstan’s ongoing large-scale political reforms, saying their logical continuation would be the historic elections to the Qurultay.

According to the Kazakh president, the reforms and broader transformations underway in Kazakhstan will create new opportunities for strengthening cooperation with the international community.

Following the ceremony, Tokayev reaffirmed Astana’s interest in strengthening relations and expanding multifaceted cooperation with the countries represented by the newly accredited ambassadors. He also conveyed his warm greetings to the leaders of their respective states.
Earlier, Qazinform reported Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had met with Emergency Situations Minister Chingis Arinov.
