Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulates Bangladesh's new president
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a congratulatory telegram to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
"I sincerely wish you success in implementing your plans and initiatives aimed at ensuring the country's socioeconomic development and raising the well-being of the people. I reaffirm Kazakhstan's readiness for joint efforts to continue strengthening cooperation based on ties of friendship and mutual understanding," the telegram reads.
The Head of State wished Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir every success in his responsible role and expressed hope for the well-being and prosperity of the friendly people of Bangladesh.
Qazinform reported earlier that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate, was elected Bangladesh’s 23rd president.
