International capoeira festival comes to Almaty

The four-day festival will be filled with trainings, charity campaigns and open air workshops for professional athletes and Almaty residents. Now in its 7th year, the festival is expected to bring together nearly 200 capoeira masters from Kazakhstan, CIS countries and from abroad. President of Kazakhstan's Capoeira Federation Rustam Balabayev said ‘this year we are planning something special.' "2014 is a special year for the federation as we are to celebrate 10 years of capoeira in Kazakhstan." The festival will culminate in its very own Carnival Parade that is set to be held in one of the central squares of the city.
