‘Immortal Regiment’ march takes place in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Today Almaty has hosted "Immortal regiment" march dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event involved more than 1,000 people of all ages who were marching from "Astana" square to the Memorial Park named after 28 Panfilov Heroes. Residents of Almaty carried photographs of their relatives who took part in the Great Patriotic War. The Immortal regiment action was first held in the Siberian city of Tomsk in 2012. In 2013 it was already held in 120 cities, in 2014 - in 500 cities in seven countries. This year Almaty city has held the Immortal regiment march for the first time.
