Head of State receives Minister of Defense Dauren Kossanov
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was reported on the Defense Ministry's activities in 2026, measures to ensure the social protection of military personnel, and raising the prestige of military service, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Akorda.
Dauren Kosanov presented information on the state of combat readiness of the Armed Forces, activities scheduled as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, and the development of automated control systems and digital infrastructure of the ministry.
He reported on preparations for the "Batyl Toitarys 2026" strategic command and staff exercise, designed to improve coordination among military command bodies and boost troop capabilities.
Kossanov also highlighted the successful mission of Kazakhstan’s second peacekeeping contingent on the Golan Heights, the rotation of the third contingent, and international recognition of Kazakhstan’s contribution to global security.
The Minister of Defense reported on the progress of the conscription campaign and efforts to enhance the status of military personnel.
Particular attention was given to educational work with the younger generation, in particular, preparations for the International Military-Patriotic Youth Gathering "Aibyn-2026," scheduled for June 21-27 in Burabay.
Tokayev set tasks for the Defense Ministry to strengthen combat readiness, improve training systems, and ensure the army’s digital transformation.
Earlier, it was reported that the second contingent of Kazakh peacekeepers returned from the Golan Heights.
