Hamilton finally wins for Ferrari
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has claimed his first Formula 1 race victory since joining Ferrari, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The British driver won the Spanish Grand Prix after completing 66 laps at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. For the 41-year-old, the victory marked a long-awaited breakthrough following a challenging debut season with the Italian team.
Hamilton crossed the finish line 19.561 seconds ahead of Mercedes driver George Russell, while McLaren's Lando Norris completed the podium in third place.
Reigning world champion Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri rounded out the top five. The remaining points positions went to Isack Hadjar, Pierre Gasly, Franco Colapinto, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad.
Hamilton joined Ferrari ahead of the 2025 season after spending more than a decade with Mercedes. However, his first year with the Italian team proved challenging. Despite winning the sprint race at the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton was unable to secure a victory in a full-length Grand Prix.
The 2026 campaign has brought significantly improved results for Hamilton. After seven rounds, Hamilton sits second in the drivers' standings with 115 points. He has already secured four podium finishes, while his victory in Barcelona was both his first of the season and the 106th of his Formula 1 career.
Hamilton has now started 387 Grands Prix, claiming a record 106 victories, 206 podium finishes and 104 pole positions. He is also a seven-time Formula 1 world champion, tied with Michael Schumacher for the most championship titles in the sport's history.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Formula 1 remains one of the world's most lucrative sporting events. During the Monaco Grand Prix, berths for superyachts positioned alongside the circuit can cost more than €210,000, while some race weekend guests spend as much as €1 million on hospitality, accommodation and related services.
