Growing population may worsen ecological situation in Almaty - Nazarbayev

"Almaty population is about to hit the 1.5 million mark and we have to pay close attention to the ecological situation within its boundaries," President Nazarbayev said Thursday addressing a session dedicated to the problems of Almaty city development. In his speech, the Head of State noted the problems of Almaty city development will always be of paramount importance. "As one of the largest cities in Kazakhstan, Almaty is the center of development of sciences, innovations and education," the President stressed.
