GOVERNMENT: Kazakhstan improves pension system

On Thursday, April 23 President of the country N. Nazarbayev chaired the 22nd session of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan in Astana. The agenda of the session was "Mangilik Yel: one country - one destiny". 1500 people took part in the work of the session. Veterans and members of the Assembly from all the regions of the county, heads of republican and regional ethno cultural associations, deputies of the Parliament, heads of central executive bodies, political parties, religious organizations, non-governmental organizations, diplomatic missions of foreign countries, university heads, representatives of scientific community and mass media attended the event. In particular, the President instructed the Ministry of Education and Science together with the Ministry of Culture and Sports to develop a roadmap on trilingual education in Kazakhstan. In addition, the President instructed the Ministry of Culture to work out a presentation plan of the Kazakh culture for Expo-2017. The Government approved the Action Plan an Action plan for the implementation of the state program Nurly Zhol. The plan includes 73 activities and consists of three blocks: infrastructure and institutional development, activities of the new anti-crisis measures 2015, including those aimed at the development of engineering, support to agriculture and providing infrastructure for the projects of "Business Road Map 2020". Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Karim Massimov was devoted to the elimination of the consequences of flooding in some regions of Kazakhstan. Mr.Kassymov stressed that the flood peak has passed. More than 10 thousand people returned to their places of residence. He noted that the flood situation is under control. Crisis centers operating in the affected regions of the country receive information about the flood situation.
Deputy Prime Minister Berdybek Saparbayev participated in the Forum of Young Professionals in Astana. B.Saparbayev presented certificates to young people who recently joined the ranks of "Bolashak" scholarship holders. Ministry of Health and Social Development has developed amendments to the legislation on pensions. During the presentation of draft law "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on pension provision" in Majilis, Kazakh Vice Minister of Health and Social Development Svetlana Zhakupova reported that the procedure for setting out the basic pension will be changed on July 1, 2017. April 23 Berlin hosted the ceremony of signing of a cooperation agreement between "Kazakhstan Center for Energy Saving and Increasing Energy Efficiency" LLP and the German Energy Agency DENA. The document is aimed at joint implementation of projects in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency of industrial and civil projects in Kazakhstan.
