Gibraltar Boxing Federation joins World Boxing
The National Boxing Federation of Gibraltar has joined World Boxing, Qazinform News Agency reports.
“The National Federation for boxing in Gibraltar has had its application for membership endorsed by the Executive Board of World Boxing,” the organization informed on its X account.
Following this decision, the total number of the organization members has reached 176 national federations. These include 123 'full members,' one 'associate member' and 52 'endorsed member.'
World Boxing, recognized by the International Olympic Committee, was established in April 2023. The organization is responsible for the development and staging of international boxing competitions at a global level.
Since November 2025, the federation has been headed by renowned Kazakhstani boxer and public figure Gennady Golovkin. His mandate is set for three years and will last until the Los Angeles Olympic Games. Previously, the organization was led by Dutch official Boris van der Vorst.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan’s national team secured seven medals at the first stage of the World Boxing Cup in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.
