G-Global conference is of great importance for the city of Almaty, mayor

ALMATY. KAZINFORM "The given forum through the prism of G-Global opportunities as a global dialogue is called to debate urgent and high-profile issues," Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov said at the international conference on "A new paradigm of sustainable human development. G-Global - format of global dialogue" held at the Kazakh National University in Almaty.
The G-Global platform brought together delegates from 170 countries. Among those attending were well-known scientists, representatives of business communities, government agencies, etc. As stated there, this conference is of great importance for the city of Almaty for it is an economic and financial centre of Kazakhstan. "Last year the gross regional product of Almaty made USD 46 bln and has doubled for the past five years to make USD 28,000 per capita. It is the level of the biggest cities of Central and Eastern Europe," he stressed. According to him, currently Almaty is positioned as a financial centre of the Eurasian Economic Union, Silk Road and Islamic financing hub.
