FC Irtysh appoints new head coach
FC Irtysh Pavlodar has appointed Nurbol Zhumaskaliev as the club’s new head coach, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to the club’s press service, Zhumaskaliev holds the record for the most appearances (526 matches) and goals scored (167) in Kazakhstan’s football championships. He spent most of his playing career with FC Tobol, but also played for Irtysh in 2017.
“He is a champion of Kazakhstan, winner of the Kazakhstan Cup, Super Cup, and the UEFA Intertoto Cup. Zhumaskaliev also ranks among the top 10 players in the history of Kazakhstan’s national team in terms of appearances and goals scored. After retiring as a player, he continued working at Tobol, where he held various coaching and management positions since 2018, including sporting director,” FC Irtysh said.
Before joining Irtysh, Zhumaskaliyev served as head coach of the Kostanay club. He also worked as an assistant coach for Kazakhstan’s senior and youth national teams. Daniyar Mukanov and Oleg Nedashkovskiy have been appointed as his assistants at Irtysh.
Earlier, it was reported that two Kazakh teams had appeared in UEFA’s top 10 futsal clubs, with Almaty’s Kairat ranked third, behind Spain’s Palma and Portugal’s Sporting, and Semey ranked tenth in the latest UEFA ranking.
