Expert Council debated issues of country’s regional development within national security context
The meeting discussed the issues of the Kazakhstan’s regional development within the context of national security risks and social stability.
Kairat Kozhamzharov, Assistant to the President and Security Council Secretary, outlined the key queries of regional development and focused on the key priorities for regional policy.
Security Council Secretary paid particular attention to the analysis of problems and risks, minimization imbalances of social and economic development in order to maintain political stability and national security.
The members of the Advisory Board and the Heads of governmental agencies talked about the most important regional development issues including the progress of the public sector programs implementation in this area, uneven economic development of the regions, evolvement of rural areas and small towns; tendency to the formation of the national population structure, tasks referring to the internal and external migration as well as a set of regional social problems.
K.Kozhamzharov identified specific challenges for public authorities and expert community by focusing on an integrated approach and a long-term strategic vision of regional policy.
