Earthquake jolts Afghanistan, felt in Kazakhstan

An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the MPV scale has been registered southwest of Almaty city, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The epicenter of the quake was located in the territory of Afghanistan, 856 km southwest of Almaty.
The earthquake hit at a depth of 180 km at 15:20 pm Almaty time. Tremors of the quake were felt in Kazakhstan’s Shymkent city and Zhambyl region.
