Drone Tech Center opens its doors in Astana Hub
Drone Tech Center, a development and research center for drone technology, inaugurated at the Astana Hub International Technopark in Astana on March 27, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

Its mission is to foster the exchange of experience and ideas and the development of innovative solutions in drone technology.
It is a significant step towards stimulating innovation and development in the field of unmanned aircraft systems. The opening of the center promises to accelerate progress in the field of drones and their applications in various sectors, including transport, logistics, agriculture, and more.
The organizers showcased virtual flights on drones using simulators on virtual reality glasses and computers; more experienced operators could fly drones in a special arena.

We are surrounded by a large team of enthusiasts and volunteers who have been involved in this business, people who inspire us. I have been involved in drones since 2016. We are trying to create a community that can come together, share experiences, communicate with regulators, communicate with customers, and communicate with each other. Of course, there is also the educational part, said Dmitry Ivanov, one of the initiators of the project and director of the Aardvark company.
Nurken Erzhanov, the head of the Defense Tech center based in the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, said geopolitical changes are particularly acute in the issue of national defense and security. The center aims to research, develop, and implement cutting-edge technologies in this sector.

The use of new technologies and innovations makes it possible even for developing countries to ensure effective defense of their homeland. (...) We regularly conduct educational and competitive events, work with inventors, trying to support projects in the form of educational programs, together with the Astana Hub, he said.
Erzhanov also noted that all developed countries of the world have such institutions like Drone Tech Center.
It didn't exist in Kazakhstan, but now we are creating it. We hold working groups on digitalization for the needs of the Ministry of Defense, he said.
Experts note more than 16 organizations in Kazakhstan use drones in various fields, including military, law enforcement, medical, and commercial sectors. They are employed for firefighting, search and rescue, reconnaissance, delivery of ammunition and medical supplies, conducting research, and environmental monitoring in the agricultural industry, among other areas.
