Draft law on National Guard endorsed by Kazakhstani MPs

The bill details the mission of the National Guard, principles and legal fundamentals of its day-to-day functioning, its tasks and powers and many more. The majilismen proposed a number of amendments ahead of the second reading stage in order to improve its norms and bring it into harmony with the national legislation. The lawmakers also approved the draft law on amendments to the legislation on the issues of the National Guard's activities. The National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a military force exercising law-enforcement functions. It is a part of the unified system of the internal affairs agencies of Kazakhstan. It was established in accordance with the presidential decree on April 21, 2014 by reformation of internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
