Dastan Satpayev becomes first Kazakh to play in England’s Championship
Dastan Satpayev has become the first Kazakhstani footballer to play in the Championship, the second tier of English football, Qazinform News Agency reports.
Satpayev made his official debut for Burnley in an away match against West Bromwich Albion, coming on as a substitute in the 57th minute. The Kazakhstan international, who is playing for Burnley on loan, wears the No. 12 shirt.
Burnley conceded a penalty shortly after Satpayev came on, with West Bromwich Albion making it 3-1.The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Burnley will face Bradford in the English League Cup on August 26 before travelling to Norwich for their third Championship fixture on August 29.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Dastan Satpayev, a forward for Chelsea FC and the Kazakhstan national team, would continue his career at Burnley on a season-long loan.
