CSTO experts to discuss security in Central Asia
The organizers of the event are the CSTO Secretariat, the Foreign Ministry and the Defense Council of Kyrgyzstan. Partaking in the round table will be Secretary General of the CSTO Nikolai Bordyuzha, political scientists and experts of the CSTO member states, heads of information and analytical agencies included in the newly-established Analytical Association of the CSTO. In the association Belarus is represented by the information and analytical center of the Belarus President Administration, the international analytical center EcooM and the Belaruskaya Dumka magazine.
"The CSTO Secretariat is going to hold a number of round tables and seminars in 2013 in the CSTO member states with political scientists and representatives of the expert community. This is the first event of the kind," Vladimir Zainetdinov said.
Participants of the event will analyze and evaluate the situation in Central Asia, determine threats in the context of the withdrawal of troops of the International Security Assistance Force from Afghanistan, discuss recommendations concerning possible measures to respond to these threats, Kazinform has learnt from BelTA
After the round table the CSTO Secretary General will meet with lecturers and students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU).
Nikolai Bordyuzha will also meet with the members of the university's CSTO Club of Friends which is founded as part of the CSTO Analytical Association.
