Contracts worth $560mln signed at AlmatyInvest 2014

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Business contracts and memorandums worth of $560 million were signed at the 2nd International Investment Forum AlmatyInvest 2014 that has wrapped up in Almaty today.
"The contracts on construction of the Kok Zhailau ski report, a garbage recycling plant and a special industrial zone in Almaty were inked," deputy mayor of Almaty city Yerbol Shormanov told a press conference summing up results of the event. Mr. Shormanov stressed that nearly 80% of financial and bank transactions are conducted in Almaty. "President Nazarbayev said that Almaty should become the financial center of the New Silk Road. We should cast Almaty as the city with open economy with necessary infrastructure. City's location between Europe and China gives us specific advantages and these factors should be used to the max," he added.
