Cheap cell phone services rapidly becoming reality in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. December 4. KAZINFORM The quality of cellular service in Kazakhstan will significantly improve by yearend, Vice Minister of Transport and Communications Saken Sarsenov promised Wednesday.
"Tremendous efforts have been put forth in order to improve the quality of cellular communications in the cities of Astana, Almaty and across the country. To date, nearly 1 300 cell sites have been erected both in Astana and Almaty and we expect that these works will be finished by the end of this year. Hence, the quality [of the cellular service] will only get better," Mr. Sarsenov said.
He also informed that prices for cellphone services will be brought down gradually.
