Baku-Khankendi: XDS Astana’s Henok Mulubrhan 2nd on Stage 4
Stage 4 of the Baku–Khankendi race culminated in a reduced bunch sprint, where XDS Astana Team’s Henok Mulubrhan secured a strong second place. Meanwhile, team leader Yevgeniy Fedorov finished 7th, successfully defending his overall lead in the GC, Qazinform News Agency cites the club’s press service.
The stage was raced at a very high speed, but we managed to keep everything under control, and the team did a great job. So, when the attacks started on the final climb, we were at the front, and in the end Yevgeniy (Fedorov), Aaron (Gate) and I were all in the leading group. In the finale everything came down to a sprint. Of course, I wanted to win, but today I finished second. Tomorrow, we have the decisive mountain stage ahead of us, and we will do everything possible to try to win both the stage and the overall classification, said Henok Mulubrhan.
Before the final stage of the race, Yevgeniy Fedorov retains the overall lead, while Henok Mulubrhan sits in third place.
