Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan aim for USD1B trade by 2030
Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are intensifying efforts to expand bilateral trade and investment, with a new program targeting 1 billion US dollars in trade turnover by 2030, Qazinform News Agency cites Trend.
Uzbekistan’s Investment, Industry and Trade Minister Laziz Kudratov and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Rashad Mammadov held talks to review the dynamics of trade and investment cooperation.
Last year, trade turnover between the two nations reached 307.3 million US dollars that is 14.6% more compared to the previous year.
This January – June trade totaled 170.3 million US dollars, 30.8% up.
They emphasized the countries remain committed to expanding opportunities for businesses in both countries.
They focused on the preparation of a roadmap to implement earlier agreements and program to boost trade to 1 billion US dollars by 2030, supporting new investment initiatives and strengthening regional cooperation.
As stated there, the 4th Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan Interregional Forum will be held in Tashkent on August 22, 2026, to expand direct contacts between regions and business communities.
Following the talks, the sides pledged to boost bilateral trade, advance investment projects, and expand interregional cooperation.
Earlier, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan signed a Treaty on Allied Relations.
