Almaty ready to host a supranational financial regulator for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union

ASTANA . December 20. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan is ready to host a supranational financial regulator for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in Almaty.
The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Kairat Kelimbetov aired the idea on the sidelines of the 6th meeting of the Advisory Board on monetary policy of the national banks of the Customs Union and Single Economic Space held in the Rixos hotel.
"I believe it is possible to create such a financial regulator by 2020. The Kazakh side believes it can be created much faster and offers to host it in Almaty, "- K.Kelimbetov said.
The National Bank's chairman noted it would strengthen the role of Almaty as a financial center in the CIS and Central Asia.
