Almaty-Poland trade turnover made 825 mln in 2012

ALMATY. April 18. KAZINFORM Mayor of Almaty city Akhmetzhan Yessimov met with a delegation of the Union of the Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland yesterday.

Greeting the guests, A.Yessimov noted the dynamic development of mutually profitable relations between the two countries in business as well as in politics. There are 47 Kazakh-Polish ventures and 25 Polish-invested enterprises in Kazakhstan, the mayor's press service reports.

As for the economic aspects, mayor Yessimov stressed that the trade turnover between Almaty and Poland increased for 21% in 2012, amounting to 825 million tenge.

"This is a very good indicator of dynamics of development of our relations. We look forward to further cooperation. Our business and cultural ties will continue to grow and develop for the benefit of our regions and countries," A. Yessimov pointed out.

Head of the Polish delegation Jacek Protas assured Akhmetzhan Yessimov that Polish businessmen are also keen to boost commercial and economic contacts since Almaty offers favorable investment climate.

In addition, the Polish delegates suggested holding a bilateral economic regional forum in Kazakhstan.
